Andrea Jeremiah
Andrea Maria Jeremiah has worked as an actor, musician and playback vocalist in Tamil films and Malayalam film. Annayum Rasoolum was her Malayalam and Tamil acting debuts. Andrea Jeremiah, born to an Anglo-Indian family from Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Andrea Jeremiah's Father is a Lawyer at the Madras High Court. There is a younger sister who resides in Leuven Belgium as researcher assistant. Jeremiah was born in the vicinity of Chennai and went to National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea learned to play piano during her eighth year. Young Stars, a Jackson Five group that she joined when she was 10 was the foundation for singing and composing music. She performed as a stage artist at her school and took part in several plays produced through The Madras Players, EVAM and other theatre groups. Andrea was President of the Student Senate at Women's Christian College. Andrea began her professional career in theatre with Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. The year 2006 saw her starred in a new leo advertisement with actor Shiva. Also, she appeared on the Podhigai Channel on a TV show. Her performances have been all over India. She played a brief character in the finale of Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). Gautham Menon enlisted Andrea to play the lead role after she sang in Vettaiyaadu's Vilaiyaadu. This film was a film adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed, with Andrea playing Kalyani who is a housewife whose husband engages in a sexual affair and gets blackmailed. Andrea won the role of Kalyani when Simran Shobana Tabu and others were offered the role. The film was released in early 2010.
