Katy Perry is an American artist and singer who was raised in the strict family of her parents and grew to be a child of many limitations. Perry began singing gospel music at the age of teen, following growing up in the Church. Although it wasn't permissible by her parents Perry experienced all types of music offered to her by her peers, because she had an affinity for music right at the very beginning. She was quite a vocal individual who pursued her dream to be a musician. The first major break she got was hard and she needed to face many hurdles. Before signing with 'Capitol ' Records' several of her tracks were shelved. Her next studio album 'One of the Boys" was a huge success and was a pivotal moment in the career of the singer. The singer was now professionally singing and has never looked back since. The album she released next, "Teenage Dreams", that won over many musicians and was one of her most well-known album ever. Katy Perry was firmly established as a musician thanks to this album that broke records. Alongside writing and recording songs, Perry is also known as a philanthropist. Perry is a gay rights activist.
