BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young (born on 19 February 1970)[1She is an American actor, producer, and performer, most well-known for her character Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama show Scandal (2012-2018). Her performance was so successful that she won the Critics' Choice Television Award for the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2014. In addition, she starred on the Fox series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young started her career as an actor with theatre. Her Broadway debut on stage in 1997, playing Mary in The Life's original ensemble. Also, she performed Off-Broadway in Stephensondheim's Musical Merrily We're Rolling Along (1994) as well as in the musical of Randy Newman Faust (1995-1996). [3][10] In 1995, she made her television debut in a recurring role on the NBC daytime soap the show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. In addition, she guest-starred in Law & Order in 1997 and 1998 in two distinct roles. She debuted in a film in 1999 with a minor performance on Black and White, a crime drama. In the following years, she was a part of many independent movies. Her first guest appearances on assortment of television dramas as well as comedy shows in the late 2000s.
